Scenario:

Storm surge from an intense coastal storm during a king tide has caused saltwater inundation across the coastal floodplains contaminating many inland water sources used to provide irrigation for agriculture and drinking water to coastal communities.

Response:

The USGS activates its local water technicians to rapidly assess the extent of the contamination. Equipped with their three JaiaBots pods they can rapidly deploy and cover large lakes and reservoirs and the smaller inland waterways without ever having to put a boat in the water. The ability to rapidly and easily deploy the JaiaBots can provide mutliple deployments that can notify the impacted communities when it is safe to extract water from affected sources.
